Delaware Couples Photographer - Steve and Cindy

I am married to a wonderful man. Here is one way I am sure of this fact. One and half years ago when i thought about developing a photography business, he was behind me 100%. He never once discouraged me, questioned me or was annoyed with me for spending money on equipment, time online doing research or the endless practice photos I have taken of him. I have talked about photography so much and he always listens to me

Last Sunday, I needed to scope out a wedding venue in Greensboro, MD. We made a day of it. Packed up lunch. Packed up camera supplies. Packed up Elmo. And off we went.

After checking out the chapel, we stopped for a picnic in the local park. Then I had the idea--mini-fall photo session!! He was so patient while I ran back and forth setting up my camera on the tripod with the timer. “OK, we have 10 seconds.” He didn’t mind one bit. These kind of days make me appreciate him. After 26 years of marriage he is still crazy in love with me and I am still crazy in love with him!

Hurricane

Blogging has taken my home by storm! Full-force, gail winds. Not-stop pounding rain. Maybe even some hail!! I love it!

My girls have been typing about their days' events in such a typical, conversational way--you almost feel like friends when you read. They post about everything ordinary that 20-somethings go through in a typical day.

Hope you check them both out!

Delaware Family Photographer - Robbins Family

Reality.

Sometimes just capturing the reality of families as it happens in front of the camera is just perfect.

Although our lives are not always based on perfection. Take for example the weather. Sometimes the wind is completely out of control. Or how about our kids, not exactly The Brady Bunch 24/7. And then there are our schedules. No need to elaborate. We all have crazy ones!

But these are the real moments in our lives. Not sitting at JCPenny having our picture taken with a pull-down backdrop (no offense-we had our share at the Studio in the Mall!)

Capturing people in their own element, doing their own thing is something I am striving for in this photography endeavor. Denise and Randy gave me the perfect opportunity to accomplish this task. We met at their gorgeous home and used their own surroundings as our backdrop. The field in back of their home, their own playground equipment, their front porch...

It was all their own perfect reality.

Delaware Family Photographer - Pisapia Ladies

Beth wanted to give her mom a special birthday gift of photos of the two of them. So when she contacted me, I started my inspirational research. Most of the photos out there are of little girls with their younger moms. Not so much out there with adult daughters and moms...how should I say....my age! (I like this much better than 'middle age'!) That started my thought process of what could be captured to describe the relationship between these two wonderful women.
Because I have two adult daughters, I am coming to understand the dynamics of this kind of relationship. Sometimes mother and daughter are very close, physically and emotionally. Sometimes both are close emotionally just are physically apart doing their own thing. Sometimes they just want to do girlie stuff together. Sometimes both look at each other and contemplate what on earth the other is thinking! And the there are those special times when they join hearts and hands and face life together. I hope I was able to capture those kind of times between a mother and daughter. Blessings to you both, Jane and Beth!
Let's start a conversation about this kind of relationship--leave a comment--maybe a funny story, maybe your view point or even some good old-fashioned advice about this phase of life! Daughters and Mothers alike are welcome to leave their tidbit--just click on 'comments.'
